About Stephanie

Stephanie Doucette, M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. OM, is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Clinical Herbalist. She is nationally certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine.

In her clincial practice, Stephanie values "meeting people where they're at" and providing consistent, nurturing support to her patients on their journeys toward greater health and well-being.

Stephanie practices integrative orthopedic therapy, bringing together acupuncture, deep tissue massage and manual orthopedic techniques to treat neuromuscular injury and chronic pain. Conditions treated include:
  • low back, neck and thoracic spine pain
  • sciatica
  • shoulder pain
  • knee pain 
  • headaches
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • plantar fasciitis 
  • arthritis
  • fibormyalgia, etc.

Using acupuncture, herbal medicine, functional medicine, and nutritional therapy, Stephanie also treats complex chronic medical conditions including:
  • allergies (food & respiratory),
  • respiratory problems (asthma, bronchitis, flu, colds, etc.),
  • digestive disorders (IBS, acid reflux, constipation, etc.),
  • gynecological problems (infertility, endometriosis, menstrual irregularities,etc.), 
  • cardiovascular issues (hypertension, angina, etc.), 
  • metabolic issues (diabetes, thyroid conditions, etc.), 
  • side effects and immune weakness related to conventional cancer therapy.

Stephanie is committed to family medicine, supporting families through pregnancy and postpartum and treating children for acute and chronic conditions.

Stephanie's clinical experience includes internships at the Women's Community Clinic in San Francisco, the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic, and in the stroke unit of the California Pacific Medical Center. She also worked in Dr. Lifang Liang's fertility clinic in San Francisco. After earning her Masters of Science at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, Stephanie completed a year-long postgraduate internship with Dr. Robert Zeiger, OMD, in Berkeley. She has completed coursework in obstetrics and pediatrics with Dr. Raven Lang, OMD, and integrative orthopedic therapy with Dr. Alon Marcus, DOM, DAAPM.

Stephanie volunteers at the Charlotte Maxwell Complimentary Clinic in Oakland treating low-income women with cancer, and at the Suitcase Clinic providing health services to under-served women at the Dwight Way Women's Shelter in Berkeley.

Stephanie lives in West Berkeley, where she serves on the board of her housing cooperative. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys cooking, gardening, practicing martial arts and exploring the East Bay hills with her daughter.
